PROVIDING THE FINEST NATURALLY REARED VENISON FOR OVER 30 YEARS

Pitscandly Venison, locally bred and traditionally reared red deer.

We are third generation deer farmers; our current herd was established in the late eighties and have roamed Pitscandly Hill ever since. It is a perfect deer farm with a steep escarpment where deer can shelter in inclement weather together with good grass pastures.

The huge difference with Farmed deer and wild deer is that with farmed animals, you know their exact age, which ensures a consistently superior product. Pitscandly Farm is based just outside Forfar in rural Angus. 

We offer all cuts of Venison including diced venison for casseroles, haunches, loins, steaks, mince, burgers and of course sausages.

Our Venison is sold fresh or frozen depending on the season. The benefit of venison is that it is the perfect red meat; high in protein, low in cholesterol and high in natural omega three. There is very little fat and is naturally healthy.

All animals are field culled which means no stress and is far more humane than taking animals to an abattoir. Farm to fork is very few miles in Angus.

Deer are low maintenance and feed happily on grass which is supplemented by hay in winter when their bodies naturally shut down and eat less.

The internet is full of wonderful recipes and ideas how to cook venison.

As consumers become more concerned about where their food comes from and what’s in it, our traditionally-reared, healthy, low-fat meat fits the bill perfectly. If you are going to eat red meat, the healthiest option by far is venison. Demand for venison has been rocketing year on year due to its natural qualities as one of the healthiest meats available.
